Why do companies cull employees during financial downturns without saying so?

When i lost my 2nd job it was slow down in the market they called me and said you made a mistake i said 15 years I worked and you want to say i made a mistake you want young people and I said My health is not good and I went on leave of absence and resigned during the COVID crisis I got a new boss and she wanted her blue eyed boss to take my position and I had a big fight and from a mouse I became a tiger and I shouted and I said I dont need your job Please put it in the dustbin They dont need me So when one works in a job especially private sector you dont know when you will be given the boot I had enough savings and so to my good luck my spouse got a GOVT JOB but I had my business on the side So I was ok but in difficult times one has to be strong resilient if one loses the job get fired or laid off Just dont be at home in the day go and knock on many doors and you will get the next job When The COVID crisis hit everything came to a halt and then I started online business and then developed that All i can summaries that when such a crisis arise it is always better to be street smart and read between the lines and be prepared they are going to lay you off and start looking for something better I do something always different I never listen to others I weigh the pro and cons and do my research In such situation it is very important to thank the Almighty Father every day and Gratitude is very important PRAYER WORKS WONDERS IN THESE TOUGH TIMES and keep in mind when you get laid off you are all alone and one need a very supportive family that is very important

First having worked in many companies before starting my own venture This is my true experiences and when you are new to the country you are a slave to an employer Companies are only thinking of profit and their benefit and increasing big pay to their CEO and also pleasing their investors and shareholders They dont think of the ordinary people like who is the hard worker who is operating the machine and the line workers They dont think of them there is a movie George Clooney I dont remember the name When the market tanks or economy downturns there is cost cutting layoffs retrenching the staff They dont care a damn The companies want only their benefit All the workers at shop floor level are at risk because they are ones to suffer The managers and supervisors and middle Management personnel will be ok as they can get other jobs So when it comes to stock market crash or say COVID crisis Let us take the COVID crisis Not only you had people millions dying and also many layoffs and downsizing During financial downturns the employee or worker will asked to leave and the worker who has worked for say 15 years 20 years he will get a severance package When the going is good they praise you and be nice to you and you dont achieve the target you are doing your best but due to the financial set back or crisis you are the scape goat and they have a great excuse OH COVID crisis are orders are less or you have not come up to their expectations As long as you are the COW that is giving the milk and reaching your targets they will smile with you and when you stop giving the target They will say we cannot afford to keep you so you have to be let go Tomorrow you can be fired or you can lose your job and you have given your blood sweat they dont care and you have mortgage bills to pay you have to feed your family and your children may have this excursion or trips and then you have to pay The COVID crisis was great eye opener for me and good lesson NOT TO TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED NOT TO PUT THE EGGS IN ONE BASKET Companies bosses supervisors co workers they are not your well wishers and best friends so ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS

I got fired from 3 jobs I did not get worried I had blind faith in God The Lord and Merciful Almighty Father So we should read between the lines Body Language is very important One has to watch the Body Language of the BOSS THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT IN A JOB You will be so happy because he is nice to you He will smile and get the job down but once the market crashes and when it comes to layoff and down sizing he will save himself first Some bosses play so dirty they wont tell you when you are getting laid off or fired

When you are young your health is very good because you are strong only your heart is strong I have no bad habits but I liked all the chinese food and the Mc Donald and Burger King and KFC all junk food I liked because so cheap the prices were so cheap and then when you are young at the end of the day you have time as a bachelor I would spend time in the library coffee shops and build my network Even when I was 40 years I would travel to other cities and build contacts When you reach 55 you have to be established and enjoy life a bit and by this time you can establish your business and you decide the customers and you have to try try try and never give up I wish I came to the West as a student and then started a business and not start business at 55 I hated my job and the employers but I loved my customers Customers were so nice to me and Customers value you and your hard work and your strength and potential They build a trust with you and they have a mental feeling that you can get the job done For that you have to lose sleep and work very hard It is how you view the stuation Are you the person who love to take risks and face challenges road blocks hurdles set backs and ready to fail IN BUSINESS FAILURE IS SECRET TO SUCCESS When my son came to tell me PAPA I failed my driving test I said second time you will pass and he passed So when you are young you have to do lot of things especially Bachelors men and women There are some people want an easy road in life and a very few take the hard road Because I took the hard road and you fall down you get up and it is frusrating it is irritating and fear Mostly fear as What if the business fails

Unfortunately in the west only 80% are employed and 20% self employed and when you are in a job you cannot concentrate on anything else because end of the day the traffic the commute you are dead tired to even take up a second job and then you have to think of your health If you are bachelor then go for 2 jobs because you are young I am 58 when I was 20 I had my own business in my home country and it was a great life and after Sept 11 attacks my whole life changed and I had to go into IT computers and I worked in an IT company and then when I came to the West first job was a call centre they said incoming clients not out going clients and they made me work outgoing clients this is how companies fooled me I was a rookie then one day I told my boss If I fall in the ditch you will never bother about me and then that day I started my business and I was a yes man in the beginning I wanted to please the boss and What ever boss told me i was ready to go for the shifts and then for 15 years I was working 100 hrs a week and I really wanted to resign my job in 2010 because I could not as my spouse was part time and when I fell sick in 2018 they wanted to fire me When I reached the age of 55 my health deteriorated and then I resigned during the COVID crisis and Everything came to a halt Unfortunately I missed great opportunities in USA and Europe when I wanted to resign in 2010 Unfortunately I could not resign the job and that was the biggest opportunity I missed
